Wayne Brady's 40th Birthday at The Mirage

Actor, comedian, TV host and former Strip headliner Wayne Brady celebrated The Big 4-0 with family and friends over the weekend at The Mirage while in town to headline as part of the “Aces of Comedy” series with his show “Making It Up” in the Terry Fator Theater.

Brady’s birthday weekend included Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, where he donned a wetsuit and participated in the “Trainer for a Day” program. With the help of Maverick, one of the male dolphins, Brady learned how to feed, pet and play with the dolphins. After finishing the program, he posed for photographs with fans and thanked them for their birthday wishes.

Brady performed to a sold-out crowd at the theater, and the audience included Fator, his wife Taylor Makakoa and Drew Carey. Post-show, Brady celebrated backstage with family by popping a bottle of champagne and toasting to another 40 years. Brady tweeted, “Killed it at the Mirage … I party like someone who’s turning 100 in 60 years!”

To officially celebrate his 40th birthday, Brady headed to nearby 1 OAK. After posing for photographers on the arrivals carpet, he entered the nightclub, where more than 40 friends and family members awaited him in a VIP section. Brady greeted and hugged each guest, including Carey, Sinbad, Joey Fatone and Jonathan Mangum.

Brady and his large group danced to the beats of DJ Ikon, which included remixes of Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” featuring Alicia Keys, Pitbull’s “International Love” featuring Chris Brown and Calvin Harris’ “We Found Love” featuring Rihanna.

Shortly before 2 a.m., the birthday boy was presented with a three-tier, blue-and-silver cake with edible musical notes. After a shout-out from Ikon, Brady blew out the candles and continued to party into the wee hours of the morning.
