Million-dollar diamond displays normally outshine everything during the parties at the annual jewelry convention at hotels up and down the Strip, but this year it was revealing and sexy outfits that caught the eye.
Actress Lisa Rinna, married to my actor pal Harry Hamlin, stunned in a see-through, low-cut black cocktail dress, and she didn’t know it displayed everything about her 48-year-old body until photographers’ flashbulbs fired off. Lisa was on the red carpet at the Simon G Jewelry Summer Soiree at Azure Luxury Pool in the Palazzo.
“It’s Harry’s fault,” she explained. “He picked the vintage Gucci. He looked at me in it and never saw anything. Thank goodness I had panties on because I had no idea it was see-through until the flashbulbs lit up. My Simon G’s were showing!”
Stunner Stacy Keibler wasn’t with beau George Clooney as she lit up flashes in her revealing dress. She said that she was leaving the next day to be reunited with him overseas. Other beauties in attendance: Cheryl Burke, Pamela Anderson (in sexy shorts, a billowing, see-through white blouse and a black bra), Giuliana Rancic (in town to host the 2012 Miss USA Pageant), Audrina Patridge, Melissa Rycroft and Gilles Marini and his wife Carole.
KC and the Sunshine band performed at the party thrown by Simon G jeweler Simon Ghanimian and his family. Our thanks to Robyn Andrzejczak of IS Photography/Images of Vegas for her photo coverage.
The night of revelry kicked off with comedian and host Dannon Green, while fire dancers dipped in the pool with sparklers. Red carpet darlings Audrina (in Gloss Army), Melissa (in a BCBG Max Azria dress she borrowed from Rent the Runway), Cheryl (in Bebe) and Pamela (wearing Palladium Jewelry by Simon G) dazzled, and Stacy arrived in a blue-sequined Herve Leger accessorized with Simon G earrings.
Giuliana wore Simon G. Jewelry earrings and said she’s looking forward to expanding her family with a baby in three months, adding that she hasn’t decided on a name because “people say you have to wait until the baby is born to name it.” She also admitted to missing husband Bill Rancic: “I’ve never done Vegas alone, which to us is the Palazzo, without him in the past five years.”
Millionaire matchmaker Patti Stanger wowed in Rachel Zoe and an $80,000 Simon G Jewelry necklace. Guests noshed on signature dishes from chef Emeril Lagasse’s Stadium. In addition to debuting a new collection, Simon G Jewelry also announced a line of colored diamond jewelry called Midnight.
BEAUTY PAGEANT PARTIES
Meantime, over at Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub in Steve Wynn’s Encore, there was a reunion of Miss USA contestants, along with girls who hope to gain a title in the future. Our thanks to Amanda Novak for her photo coverage, where 2011 Miss Nevada USA Sarah Chapman wore $2 million in diamonds from Lili Jewelry. Check out that 7-carat diamond ring.
Congratulations to Sarah, who is the line’s new spokeswoman and, in accord with her duties, reeled off for me the details: ring, Orchidea diamond, 7.2 carat, $1.2 million; necklace, Lily diamonds, 50 carat, $450,000; earrings, Orchidea diamonds, 6 carat, $200,000; and bracelet, Lily diamonds, 20 carat, $150,000.
For the 2012 Miss Teen USA contestants, it was candy and confectionary instead of captivating carats. They showed off their sweet side during a visit to Sugar Factory in the Paris. The blushing beauty queens were all smiles as they stocked up on treats, including Sugar Factory’s signature jumbo whirly pops, Gummy Bears and milk chocolate s’mores candy bars.
They signed autographs and posed for photographs with admiring fans. Danielle Doty, the reigning 2011 Miss Teen USA from Texas, took to Twitter afterward telling her followers to visit Sugar Factory on their next Las Vegas trip.
