Devilcar

Genres: Indie rock, Punk rock, Rock
Take a ride with Devilcar, as they mix melancholy vintage pop with a raw post-punk edge. Confessional songwriting over bittersweet melodies and insidious grooves, evoke influences from The Kinks to Elvis Costello. The newly-formed, four-piece band are all native sons of Las Vegas and record at their self- built studio/de facto label "The Upside-Down Dragon" a creative retreat from the many vices that Sin City has to offer. Devilcar is named after a black Cadillac Deville once owned by singer/songwriter J , which he was convinced was posessed for various reasons. Like its namesake, Devilcar is a little bit of sleek mischief, that might take you someplace you never expected. One thing to expect however, is Devilcar's live show to be a relentless balancing act of precision and vulnerability that connects with the audience on a truly personal level. This aside from the craftiness of the songwriting is the key ingredient that caught the ear of veteran producer/engineer/mixer Sean Beresford (Bob Dylan, Third Eye Blind) and led up to the completion of "Happy Go Darkness" the band's 13 song debut album recorded and mixed in the fall of 2009.
