- The Dark Stars were an original hard rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada late in 2006 by Morpheus Blak, juStIN and David Divine. Blak and juStIN made the decision to disband TDS early in 2008. Other members included original drummer Peter Dallas, who was replaced by full time TDS drummer Bert Garcia, and Mark Mangus who joined on guitar after David Divine left the band. The band focussed on writing and recording new material and only did two shows prior to disbanding. One show was a live in the studio taping for Deep Rock Drive, and the other a critically acclaimed show on the main stage at the Beauty Bar in Las Vegas. Blak states, "We disbanded TDS because new opportunities presented themselves that were advancement steps career wise. Myself and juStIN were at the core of the band from start to finish, and although we are both sad that our hard work only resulted in two shows, we also readily acknowledge that the formation and development of TDS was a huge musical achievement for us as artists, and we are very, very proud of the work we accomplished together. The Dark Stars were a well thought out and carefully executed rock band with very good songs."
