CineVegas to-do list #31: See a movie star
CineVegas to-do list #31: See a movie star
With CineVegas 2008 wrapping up this Saturday night, you only have one more chance to complete CineVegas to-do list item #31: See a movie star.
For the past week and a half A, B and G-list celebs have invaded our city, working red carpets, sipping free Grey Goose and even catching a film or two. If you missed the Britney sighting at Palms Place, Rainn Wilson giving interviews in ‘80s rocker gear and Dwayne Johnson signing autographs at Planet Hollywood, don’t despair. Tomorrow night is your last and best opportunity to get a peek at this year’s Hollywood invitees.

The Honorees’ Reception, held Friday, June 20th at the Planet Hollywood pool, is CineVegas’ annual turn to recognize some of today’s top actors and filmmakers at various points in their careers. This years line up features appearances by Half-Life Award-winners Viggo Mortensen, Don Cheadle, Sam Rockwell and Rosario Dawson, Marquee Award-winner Anjelica Huston and Vegas Icon Award-recipients James Caan and Clint Holmes. This is the Double-Double animal-style of CineVegas events: bigger, badder, better dressed and bathed in twinkling flash bulb light.
While you can’t follow the stars into the party, you can charge your camera batteries and do some amateur stalking at the red carpet event prior to the awards ceremony. You probably won’t ever get to spar naked with Viggo in a steam room, but think of the text messages you’ll send to all your friends when he looks right at you and smiles. Right at you!
Red carpet arrivals begin at 7:30 p.m.
