Have an instant mini-screening with CineVegas trailers
"Thor at the Bus Stop," a film by local filmmakers Mike and Jerry Thompson about how the mythical Thor spends his last day alive, will have it's world premiere at CineVegas 2009.
CineVegas 2009 is just around the corner, and if you haven’t yet figured out your lineup of indie features and short films for the festival (or if you’re just looking to kill some time at work), a screening is in order.
Step 1. Go to your company break room/lounge/kitchen/vending machine and purchase a salty snack. Not only will the makers of said salty snack thank you, but you can chew loudly during this DIY screening for a more realistic movie-watching experience. If something scares you, feel free to throw a handful of your snack into the air – just try not to hit anybody else’s desk or leave it on the floor for too long. Ten second rule!

Step 2. Repeat step one with a carbonated beverage. Note: Do not attempt to throw your drink into the air near any electronic equipment or people with blow-dried hair.
Step 3. Now that you’ve got your concessions, return to your computer. If your co-workers won’t look at you oddly, sit under your desk for a darkened movie theater environment. Plug in your headphones and browse a variety of trailers for films screening at the upcoming CineVegas Film Festival at the Palms and Brenden Theatres, including Asylum Seekers, about six people trying to check into a mental asylum; Impolex, which follows an American soldier trying to find undetonated German rockets at the end WWII; a comedy about the mythical Thor called Thor at the Bus Stop; a documentary about Japan’s bug obsession, Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo; Beautiful Darling, about Andy Warhold superstar Candy Darling and shorts The Adventures of Ledo and Ix, Asshole, Countertransference and Team Taliban.
Then just sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
