The last big DVD

By Rick Lax

Most Lost fans (“Losties”? “Losters”? “Dharmanators”?) are wondering whether the series will end with a satisfying conclusion. What I’m wondering is this: What are we supposed to do when the show is done?

Go back and watch every episode again, obviously. But when? And how?

I think we’re supposed to wait a few months and then buy a DVD box set for $179.95. I know that sounds like a steep price, but remember: the box set will probably have 50 hours of special features.

Is Hulu going to step up to the plate and put every single episode of Lost up on the web? Of course not; there’s so much money to be made in DVD sales.

And here’s another prediction: I bet Lost will be the last huge DVD seller. Started with Matrix, will end with Lost. Digital from there on out. Just you watch.
