MAGIC and magic, for dudes and Disney villains

Yesterday I returned to the MAGIC Marketplace fashion convention for more psychological punishment. I spent the day in the Menswear section, among hundreds of guys who were taller, handsomer, and better dressed than I was. Effing male models. The MAGIC Model Expo (which, I’m told, has some fashion stuff, too)

I’ve never before seen so many beautiful women under one roof. I’ve never before fallen in love thrice per minute. I’ve never before been to MAGIC Marketplace convention. Yes, the international fashion industry’s preeminent trade event has come to town, and it’s brought thousands of stunning young models with it. Dr. Laura and the Devil’s Advocate

I like playing Devil’s Advocate. Hell, I even like the Keanu Reeves/Al Pacino movie The Devil’s Advocate. So I defended Don Imus. And I defended Michael Richards. But I’m having trouble defending Dr. Laura…. Dom Imus got excited and made a second-long racist comment. Covert and uplifting

I’m 5’11”. I’m about 2 inches taller than the average American male. And yet, I’m insecure about my height. It’s all my roommate’s fault. She’s 6’1”, inconsiderately, and she likes to wear heels.
