Ten million, shmen shmillion

By Rick Lax

Mitt Romney set up a phone bank at the Las Vegas Convention Center and he raised more than $10 million in one day. The media went nuts over it—you probably heard.

And part of me understands why: 10 million is a huge figure. But is that surprising that Mitt Romney has rich friends? No. What’s surprising is what the local media ignored…

24 hours after Romney’s fundraiser, Ron Paul spoke at the Silverton. And nobody batted an eyelash.

Why not?

We’re a libertarian city in a libertarian state, and Ron Paul a libertarian candidate. When he says that Nevada is "showing the country what liberty is all about," he means it.

So what will it take for Las Vegas to embrace Ron Paul?
