This week's scheduled performances of “Donny & Marie” have been canceled as Marie Osmond continues to cope with the death of the tragic suicide death of her son, Michael Bryan.
“(Marie) is hanging in there, but she’s struggling,” Osmond’s personal assistant, Darla Sperry, said in this afternoon. “What can we expect? She is doing the best she can. Please keep her in your prayers.”
The hotel confirmed this evening that all "Donny & Marie" shows this week have officially been canceled. Those shows are tonight, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The next scheduled date tickets are being sold is Tuesday, March 23, as the production is dark Sundays and Mondays.
The Osmonds had sought to make up for the six lost shows following Bryan’s death by adding previously open dates from April 13-17. It has not been announced if other dates will be changed as a result of the latest shift in the duo’s performance schedule.
Bryan, who had previously used his adopted surname of Blosil but was discovered to have been granted a legal name change by Utah’s 4th District Court, committed suicide by jumping from a downtown Los Angeles apartment building on Feb. 26. “Donny & Marie” was dark through the March 7 private viewing and March 8 family service near Provo, where Michael Byran was laid to rest near the family plot of Donny and Marie Osmond’s parents, Olive and George Osmond. At the time, Sperry said Marie considered planning her son’s funeral “her final chance to take care of her son, to be a mom.”
