“Absinthe” at Caesars Palace unwittingly performed an impression of “O” on Tuesday.

What a show spokeswoman describes as an electrical failure Tuesday afternoon triggered the life-safety system (sprinklers is another way to describe that system), which in turn flooded the floor of the tent that serves as home to the production at Caesars’ Roman Plaza. The dousing occurred hours before Tuesday's scheduled performance.

The dampened theater and standing water wiped out two shows Tuesday night, the lone performance scheduled for this evening and two shows Thursday. The hope is to restore the venue to working condition “as soon as possible,” which would be Friday at the earliest.
