The Crue true to form as “Loudest Show on Earth” hits Mandalay Bay
By Robin Leach
Motley Crue, ready for some high-decibel hijinks at Mandalay Bay.
Rock rebels Motley Crue come home today for their outrageous Crue-Fest as part of their ongoing world tour for Live Nation. They’ll be joined by Buck Cherry and Papa Roach at the Mandalay Bay Events Center for what they describe as, “The Loudest Show on Earth.” My good friend, singer Vince Neil, who calls Vegas home and has his Vince Ink tattoo parlor at the O’Shea’s, says it’ll be good to sleep in his own bed for a few days while home as he’s been on the road promoting and touring for 40 consecutive days. He’s managing his Italian wine business and his new rum drink from Internet and cell-phone hookups on his tour bus!
Ahead are dates stateside through the end of this month -– and then dates are being penned in for Down Under, Asia and Europe. I sent a message to the guys saying if they wanted to lay low under the radar while in town instead of going out to party I’d understand -- but immediately the reply came back saying they wanted to rock and roll all night long in the world’s party capital. So expect Luxe Life on Monday to have the full report of their hi-jinks.
Meantime drummer Tommy Lee has been talking about the Motley Crue movie that was supposed to start this year. It’s been delayed while the group still struggles to find the right producers and directors. But Tommy knows he’d like Johnny Depp to be the actor to play his role!
