Vegas has a new helicopter tour company -- and this promises to be the deluxe version! Stars and Stripes Air Tours threw itself a grand opening party at its new Heliplex, complete with a percussion band and helicopter aerialists. News anchors from our local TV stations were on-hand with company executives for the first flight. Stars and Stripes operates both airplanes and helicopters -- all painted in the familiar, namesake trademark with full-theater seating and pilot-narrated tours -- all of whom are FAA-certified.

The company, family-owned and operated for more than 30 years, had a base at the Boulder City airport before the new expansion in North Las Vegas and, to date, has flown more than 500,000 passengers from every continent on the globe. Stars and Stripes specializes in Southwest tourist sites, including the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and, of course, our beloved Strip.
