Tonight’s tip: Amplify! Rocks downtown LV

Nearly 100 bands from across America will descend on downtown for the Amplify! Music Conference that runs through Friday night. By day, industry panels with top music executives, promoters and managers and by night band showcases including headliners Hawthorne Heights, Vanilla Ice and Big B. Our local groups Searchlight, Almost Normal, Think, Lydia Vance and many others are also set to perform … Until now, Rehab has always been the Sunday attraction at the Hard Rock Hotel -- but there’s a group of the same name who bring its “Graffiti World Tour” to the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay – along with special guest, One Pin Short. I’m guessing that’s similar to one sandwich shy of a picnic? Meantime, back at the Hard Rock, Carey Hart plays host to Steed Lord at his Wasted Space club … And Apathy presents a live free-style performance atop Moon at the Palms Fantasy Tower.
