Strip Scribbles: Playmates, Strip sightings
By Robin Leach
* Playboy Playmates Jordan Monroe (Miss October 2006) and Athena Lundberg (Miss January 2006) recently partied at Tryst nightclub in the Wynn Las Vegas. Also there were rapper Ja Rule and Memphis Grizzlies forward Antoine Walker, holding court on a dance-floor table.
* Hip-hop star and actor LL Cool J feasted at the Tao Asian bistro in the Venetian with his manager and security guard! The threesome dined as if they were 30 -- they selected lobster wontons, satay bass, peking duck, wasabi filet and chicken fried rice along with lemon drop martinis and peppermint tea. Throughout the dinner, LL Cool J happily posed for pictures with fans ... rapper Ja Rule lounged poolside at the upper Tao beach hot spot and lunched with friends in a lavish cabana ordering salads and frozen TAO-tinis ... Girls Next Door star Bridget Marquardt will host a Ship Wreck Pirate Treasure Hunt at the Ditch daytime party at George Maloof's Palms Pool. Hugh Hefner's Playboy galpal will give guests clues throughout the day to lead them to the "buried treasure." A special map will help players "dive" for additional clues found in more than 100 messages in a bottle that will float in the pool. Meantime this weekend the biggest party in Vegas summertime history gets underway at the Palms with the lavish and extraordinary Midsummers revelry festivities.
* Sexy reality TV actress Audrina Patridge will host at the new Christian Audigier nightclub at Treasure Island. Her party will feature the sounds of DJ CyberKid.
* The world’s most infamous party isn’t just at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion -- George Maloof throws his Midsummer Night’s Dream party at the Palms pool and more than $300,000 has been spent to recreate a King's Court, complete with castle, drawbridge and carnival entertainers. You must wear a costume or a mask for entry to the masquerade ball, which will run until 2 a.m. Be careful not to upset the king while having your fortune told as he has a guillotine ready and working! We’ll have full photo coverage here at Luxe Life on Monday.
* All eyes will be on sexy reality TV star Kim Kardashian when the bountiful brunette bombshell joins the Vegas Pussycat Dolls in their lusty lounge in Caesars Palace. Hollywood hottie Kim says she’ll have no problem baring her burlesque assets and stripping down to a revealing bustier, garter belt, torn fishnets and high-heel shoes for her sassy, saucy romp in the over-sized champagne glass. After the eye-popping performance of pulchritude, Kim will host the party at the adjoining Pure nightclub for the remainder of the night.
* There are other sexy moves going on all over town this weekend so let's strip down the calendar and unzip the highlights in what we affectionately refer to around here as ROBIN’S ROYAL RUNDOWN:
Friday
* As noted above, singing comedy ventriloquist Terry Fator, who won the $1million prize on America’s Got Talent, which won him the headliner gig at the Mirage come next February, fulfills another three-day weekend engagement at the Hilton.
* TV funnyman Brad Garrett, who often partners with best pal Ray Romano, goes stand up comedy solo at the Mirage for two nights.
* It's a very special night of soul survivors with Hall & Oates in the Joint at the Hard Rock. Daryl and John have played together for 40 years and have been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, while poolside there is Paolo Nutini who, despite the name, is actually a young Scottish singer and songwriter. He has the soul of great American R&B and he’s already a favorite opening act for Kid Rock and Robert Plant.
* Veteran singer Steve Lawrence kicks off three nights of standards and show tunes at the Orleans, filling the first of the dates vacated by the late comedian George Carlin -- or, jump into the Union Gap for the next three nights with Gary Puckett out at South Point casino.
* On American Idol he won the fans over as Chris Daughtry, but now he’s dropped his first name -- and he and his group play open air at the Sandbar pool area at Red Rock ... Don’t forget the Robin Thicke concert scheduled for the House of Blues has been canceled!
* Fight fans have the showdown between Layla McCarter and Loli Munoz on the card at the Orleans.
* Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester will host her celebration party at Prive nightclub in Planet Hollywood.
