Cher drops in on Clinton’s birthday bash
By Robin Leach
Politics makes for strange bedfellows, according to the old expression, so who would have guessed that Caesars Palace headliner Cher would team with Texas oil billionaire T. Boone Pickens to celebrate former President Bill Clinton’s birthday?
Our Nevada Senator Harry Reid joined the unlikely dinner group at starchef Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak restaurant inside the MGM Grand for Clinton’s 62nd birthday celebration.
I’ve probed and prodded to get full intimate details of their summit -- but
regret to inform I can’t even tell you if Cher sang “Happy Birthday Mr. President”’ a la Monroe! I can’t even advise if Cher sat beside the President in the absence of Sen. Hillary Clinton out campaigning on the “Obama for President” trail.
What I do know is that oil-baron T. Boone did further amplify all of his proposed wind and solar power ideas to solve the energy crisis -– and that Cher and he had an animated positive dialog about it. Maybe she’ll do his next set of revealing TV commercials boosting the cause?
But, oh to be a fly on the wall of that dinner group. I could have filled Luxe Life columns for a week!
