Justin Timberlake plans Vegas events, appearances

By Robin Leach

Grammy- and Emmy-award winning international superstar Justin Timberlake has agreed to host a special concert, “Justin Timberlake and Friends -- a Special Evening Benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children," at the Planet Hollywood Resort Theatre for Performing Arts on Friday, Oct. 17. It will be one of the biggest concerts of the year featuring performances from some of his mega-recording artist friends who will join Justin on stage in Vegas to support the very worthy children's hospital organization.

No official word yet on who Justin will recruit from the Hollywood, Nashville and New York music scenes but he promises "some of the biggest names in the music world."

Tickets will go on sale as of 10 a.m. today at the Planet Hollywood resort casino box office and range in price from $75 up to $250. In November 2007, the PGA Tour announced that Timberlake would become the host of the Tour’s Las Vegas event, which was renamed the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Timberlake becomes the 14th celebrity in tour history to host an event, joining former legends Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr.

The Oct. 17 concert is one of several events during tournament week that will benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Timberlake is also hosting a Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at TPC Summerlin, the host site of the golf tournament. For more information on that event, log onto www.jtshrinersopen.com.
