Hard Rock adds sexy spa masseuses, all-female VIP host staff to new poker palace

By Robin Leach

It all appears far more like an exotic nightclub rather than a traditional smoke-filled traditional poker room.

Forget the images of yesteryear, the Hard Rock is putting an admitted "sexy decadent" ultra-lounge spin on its parlor of playing cards. Designed to attract the world’s top poker players and high-end bachelor parties and private events, it is Vegas’ very first trend-setting Poker Lounge.

The $30 million-designed space features 18 poker tables, including five private, high-limit tables that already have turned heads. It features a private bar, nightclub bottle service, certified masseuses, music and plush couches sprawled out in the 7,000-square-foot, first-of-its-kind area. Poker Lounge is the newest addition in the Hard Rock’s ongoing $800 million expansion and renovation and is located across from the Pink Taco restaurant. The grand opening is now just days away and will likely force other casinos to up the ante even more. A unique, only-one-in-Vegas text-messaging system will reach players anywhere on the property when its their turn to sit at a table.

"We have brought in world-renowned poker managers, dealers and players, including Houston Waldie, Steve Cyr, Jimmy Miller, Steven Braverman and Blaine Goodwin to kick off the only Poker Lounge in the city," said Steve Cyr, Hard Rock’s Poker Lounge marketing manager. "Hard Rock likes to push the envelope when it comes to entertainment, so this lounge will be no different. We will offer any game, any limit at any time."
