Happy Birthday, Britney! Decision about NYE on the Strip looms

Pop queen Britney Spears celebrates her 27th birthday today in New York City, and if you were awake earlier this morning, you caught her live on ABC’s Good Morning America. She performed her No. 1 hit single “Womanizer” from the brand new album Circus, which goes on sale today. Britney was at the Big Apple Circus big top at Lincoln Center for the 7 a.m. telecast.
I can confirm that she, manager Larry Rudolph and father Jamie discussed at length over the weekend in London her proposed New Year’s Eve appearance on the Strip here, but that time and time again questions about her personal safety and security and crowd control were raised.
I’m reliably told that Britney said at one point, it might even be safer for all concerned if she simply stayed home with her family and didn’t go out anywhere! New Year’s Eve here in Vegas has begun to take on a “biggest and best ever” appearance that’s likely to pack the Strip with more than 300,000 revelers despite the nation’s economic crisis. Tomorrow, we’ll have the full rundown of all the stars, the countdowns and the stunts!
The network TV officials and Britney’s camp agreed to meet one last time tomorrow for a final decision before a planned press conference next Monday. Vegas DeLuxe will have the go or no-go right here tomorrow!
