Steve Wynn plans 4,000-seat arts center at new Encore

When you get a major scoop as we did yesterday on Steve Wynn’s collaboration with the Bee Gees for a Stayin’ Alive musical at his new Encore Tower next year, the email box jams with communications. (Click HERE for yesterday’s exclusive.)

There were some notes of disbelief, some notes of confirmation and even some of surprising congratulations for his decision -- but no notes of denial! Hidden in them all was another golden nugget, which I pass on almost exactly as it was so kindly sent to me:

A little more for your story of this morning. In January, or no later than February, there will be an official announcement that Steve has plans to break ground on the Wynn Arts Center. It reportedly will seat around 4,000 people. Nothing has been reported or revealed about that yet. Stayin’ Alive will share the Encore/Danny Gans Theater (remember, Danny is only doing four shows a week) initially. If the demand is there, some of these dual shows will separate and move over into the new venue when it is completed.

I’m reliably told that Steve intends to have the new Arts Center open also for the Encore’s first anniversary next December! No word yet as to what its full purpose and prime function will be or what Steve will stage in it. Doubtless my email box will fill up again today with that information -- hopefully!

Thank you, everybody!
