Celine Dion confirms that she’s trying for another baby

Former Caesars Palace headliner Celine Dion, who eventually plans to return there with new shows, confirmed this morning her plans and hopes for a new baby when her current 14-month global concert tour ends.

Appearing on CBS’ Early Show, she told host Julie Chen, “We have a frozen embryo. We’d love to extend the family.”

Celine, who is the youngest of 14 children herself, and her husband-manager Rene Angelil have a 7-year-old son, Rene-Charles, who was conceived by in-vitro fertilization after the couple spent six years trying for a baby.

Then she surprised viewers by admitting that one frozen embryo might not be enough for their family planning.

“I started to talk to René-Charles about it. He said, ‘Can we have four and five?’ ” Celine said.

It’s believed that Celine will return to The Colosseum at Caesars either late next year or early 2010 on a rotating schedule, alternating performances with current headliners Cher and Bette Midler after Sir Elton John’s contract comes to an end.
