Vegas punk princesses Deadly Seven go to war over Hollywood rip-off

By Robin Leach

Deadly 7, fine feathered friends indeed.

War has been declared by our favorite Las Vegas punk princesses the Deadly Seven, and they want your help in exposing a cheap, copycat rip-off that’s suddenly surfaced in the Los Angeles club land.

When D7 appeared at Safari Sams nightclub in Hollywood two months ago, it was a total sell-out and the crowds went wild over the outrageous antics of the seven semi-topless Vegas beauties and their original act.

Deadly Seven immediately won offers to appear at other L.A. clubs, but because of their appearance fee and travel costs from Vegas, one club promptly decided to save money and created a knock-off.

“It’s an exact replica of our band to the T. They play the same songs, have the same eye makeup and use the same nipple tape,” manager Mr. D complained to me. “That’s not all. The rip-off copying goes further with the same use of presidential face masks, the same pillow fights, the same fake bloodbaths right down to the same words scrawled on their body parts!”

He blasted: “It’s downright theft of a creative process. A club operator has called them XXX, and it’s totally sleaze ball. The knock-off group has simply copied us in every possible way, not even bothering to change one thing or have something original of their own. It’s a poor, pathetic imitation, and in punk terms, we aren’t going to stand for it.”

Mr. D asked for help through our Vegas DeLuxe blog. He wants Deadly Seven fans in Vegas to rally in support of our hometown heroines, and he’s looking for a lawyer to shut down the illegal imitation. Check out D7 at www.myspace.com/thedeadlyseven.

“We’ll give them a fight they’ll wish they never started,” he told me.

Vegas DeLuxe will monitor this developing story as the fireworks get underway!
