Hometown rocker Vince Neil has scrapped his solo European tour just 24 hours before it was due to kick off in Spain this weekend.
Vince was due to fly to Barcelona for shows in Madrid and Bilbao when he learned that all three of his dates there were in jeopardy after the Riviera concert facility in Madrid shut its doors earlier in the week. The promoter was unable to find a new last-minute venue. Those problems triggered “an organizational problem” that affected the remainder of the tour.
Vince was due to play 21 concerts in Europe and then return to his Las Vegas home in time for Christmas. As a result of the Spanish mishaps, Vince decided it was safer to also cancel out shows in Russia, Hungary, Germany, Italy and the last two dates in Great Britain.
The Motley Crue frontman tried hard right down to the last minute to help save the tour, but 24 hours before the first gig, he deemed it advisable to cancel his flight to Europe.
Meantime in Los Angeles, a fire broke out this weekend at the Body Shop strip club on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood where Motley Crue recorded and filmed their video for their massive hit song “Girls Girls Girls.” More than 12 fire trucks responded to the blaze, and two firefighters were injured. It took 40 firefighters one hour to extinguish the blaze, and there were no other injuries.
