Miss America tickets go on sale today; Wayne Brady tests three beauty queens

The excitement of the Miss America live telecast Jan. 24 actually begins today when tickets go on sale for the pageant at Planet Hollywood. Also tonight, reigning Miss America Kirsten Haglund is joined by 1981 Miss America Susan Powell and 2000 Miss America Heather French Henry on Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics hosted by our Venetian headliner Wayne Brady.
It’s a special holiday episode of Wayne’s show, but the hope is that the Miss Americas will win a ton of prize money to donate to the Miss America Scholarship Fund and get 2009 off to a flying start!

The 52 Miss America 2009 contestants sweep into Las Vegas in mid-January to begin the preliminary competitions in swimsuit, evening gown and talent. Tickets for those preliminaries the week starting Jan. 19 also go on sale today at www.ticketmaster.com.
