Paul Anka’s hospitalization and battery allegations surface

Longtime Las Vegas entertainer Paul Anka was reportedly hospitalized last month and received stitches for cuts to his face and head in an apparent domestic dispute at his residence in Thousand Oaks, Calif.. Paul, 67, one of Steve Wynn’s closest friends who accompanied him on art-buying trips in Europe, is scheduled to perform here next weekend at The Orleans.

It is not known if he will postpone the three nights of concerts because of the incident, although quite some time has passed since the altercation occurred Nov. 28. According to sources, Paul was injured in a dispute with his wife, Anna, 37, who is believed to have hurled ice cubes at him during a disagreement.

She is then alleged to have bolted from their California home when he was taken to a hospital. Paul allegedly reported her missing to police when he returned home from the hospital.

Entertainment Tonight has confirmed with police that Anna Anka was arrested and booked on domestic battery against her husband. The story was leaked to media today, complete with booking photos.

The charges have been dropped by the Ventura County D.A.’s Office, and Paul has said that the incident “was nothing” and that he and his wife are “fine.”
