Employees from Tryst at the Wynn and new XS nightclub at the Encore teamed up to make the single largest donation ever in our annual KLUC radio toy drive. The 100-strong entourage in 60 vehicles with a Metro police escort arrived at a local Walmart and spent $32,000 within an hour on toys, clothes and bicycles.
Once they’d checked out, they loaded up the caravan of vehicles and, with Metro up front, drove to the Nevada Power offices where local radio station KLUC was broadcasting the toy drive live.
“It’s not about us” said Tryst and XS managing partner Cy Waits. “We just want to make a true, positive impact on Las Vegas families and children in need. We just want to make a difference.”
His twin brother Jesse, also a managing partner, added: “Giving back to the community is something we take seriously. All we want to do is make a difference in the lives of the children during this time of the year. Our Tryst/XS family will continue to support the KLUC toy drive and other charity organizations for years to come.”
Tryst employees purchased $32,000 in toys at Wal-Mart for the annual KLUC 98.5-FM charity toy drive in December 2008. Afterward, they received a police escort to the donation point.
Earlier, as Vegas DeLuxe reported, in the toy drive, Mindfreak magician Criss Angel and girlfriend Holly Madison had stopped by with their large personal donation of toys and bicycles.
