Morning Call: It’s celebration time for Criss Angel, Holly Madison, Believe and McCarran Airport

Early this morning, Believe illusionist Criss Angel will celebrate an amazing birthday -- and it’s not his, although they fall on the same day! The Mindfreak magician will do his own up in style later tonight! First, though, he and his dancers join the cast of his fellow Cirque du Soleil Beatles show Love and a host of gorgeous showgirls out at McCarran Airport for its 60th birthday celebration!

Exactly 60 years ago today, a dirt runway operated with just 12 daily flights! Today, we have one of the busiest airports in the nation handling millions of passengers and hundreds of flights! In the spirit of a holiday season celebration, both arriving and departing passengers will receive gifts and mementos starting at 10 a.m. and running until 3 p.m. You’ll find them all between the C and D gates on the second floor that overlooks baggage claim where the aviation history of Clark County is on display.

Congratulations to both Criss and girlfriend Holly Madison as they celebrate their joint birthdays with their midnight arrival at LAX in the Luxor after his two performances tonight. Vegas DeLuxe will have the full photo report of the party right here tomorrow morning. He’s just passed the100-show milestone of Believe already and hits No. 108 for his birthday. It’s expected that at the end of tonight’s second show, Luxor President Felix Rappaport will present Criss with a birthday cake to mark the occasion.

Criss, who is 41 today, and Holly, who will be 29 on Tuesday, have returned from a two-day mini-vacation at Disneyland. When The Girls Next Door reality star told Criss it’s one of her favorite places to visit, he told her he’d never been before. So Holly set plans in motion to change that -- and yesterday the twined twosome were on all the rides and viewed all the attractions having a grand time together! Tomorrow, however long the partying goes, Holly will be up and awake noontime to join her co-stars Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt, also former playmates at Hugh Hefner’s mansion. All three will be at the Playboy store in the Caesars Palace Forum Shops at 1 p.m. to sign copies of their new book. It is a companion to their E! Entertainment TV series and features 256 pages of behind-the-scenes details. It includes photos of the trio and Hef revelations of life at the bunny hutch and even beauty, style and party tips – plus, believe it or not, their own favorite food recipes! I’m going to sit down with them for a while before their appearance, and we’ll have any breaking news immediately and then post our new photo pictorial of the temptress trio.

Meantime, don’t panic but Criss and his Believe cast are going on vacation Jan. 6-23 as part of the staggered vacation closings during our slow season for all Cirque du Soleil shows. Criss will travel to New York on personal business and then has begun planning a trip with Holly to his favorite Mexican sunspot of Cabo San Lucas.

When they return, he and Cirque officials will work for one to three months on “show fixation” -- when they’ll tweak and tighten and add and delete to Believe.

“That’s a quite normal process,” Cirque du Soleil spokeswoman Merri Hagan told me. “Its a process that’s ongoing at all Cirque shows however long they have been running. It ensures everything is always new and different and better so that the audience experience is always fresh however many times they return to see our shows.”

Holly then could begin rehearsals here in Las Vegas to join a show here on the Strip. She’s already received the official contract for that, and as we’ve previously reported, her appearances are inked to begin at the end of March. She’s also revealed that after she finishes shooting the sixth season of The Girls Next Door, she’s developing her own spin-off show with E!

Then Criss simultaneously gets ready for the March-April start of the fifth season of his Mindfreak shows on A&E. As he’s told Vegas DeLuxe in previous interviews, this is the season that will feature the magical 100th show!
