A trip down nostalgia lane when Liberace was king of the Strip and I was a whole lot younger

Browsing through YouTube is one heckuva interesting experience, and you simply don’t know what you might find. One of our eagle-eyed Vegas DeLuxe readers spotted me some 25 years ago when I was here in Las Vegas to interview the flamboyant showman and musical genius known by the one name of Liberace.

In a sense, Lee was the forerunner of such over-the-top acts as Sir Elton John and even Cher. Since we’re in the gift-giving season, I’ll leave this one just for you to enjoy while I’m away with my family in Santa Barbara for the holidays.

It’ll give you a laugh looking at me back then, but as always it was a fascinating interview -- and it makes a thoroughly interesting tale even if you weren’t from his generation. Call it part of my time capsule of personality journalism memories.
