Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson introduce Bronx Mowgli to the world
By Robin Leach
Pop royals Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz introduced their new baby son to the world on Christmas Day, one week ahead of their Las Vegas visit to count down to the New Year at Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace.
The happy couple posted the first photo of 5-week-old Bronx Mowgli on his Fall Out Boy Web site HERE.
“We decided to share the best gift we could ever receive with you: Bronx Mowgli Wentz,” the couple wrote on a special holiday homepage. “We couldn’t be happier. And in the spirit of the holidays, we’d like to encourage you to give on your own.”
Jessica Simpson pats little sis Ashlee's baby bump at the grand opening party for George Maloof's new Palms Place on May 31.
The couple confirmed that they were expecting a baby in early May on a visit to George Maloof’s Palms Place condo-tel opening. They were married in her father’s home in Los Angeles at the end of May.
Bronx Mowgli was born Nov. 20, weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20 1/2 inches long. Pete and Ashlee explained to American Idol host, L.A. deejay and regular Vegas visitor Ryan Seacrest that the unusual and unique middle name came from one of their favorite stories.
“The Jungle Book was something that me and Ashlee bonded over. It’s a cool name. Mowgli is the name of one of the characters,” said Pete, who refused to reveal any similar details about the first name.

His one comment was: “We came up with the idea Bronx. We’ve been throwing ideas back and forth a while. It’s kind of cool to just leave the narrative what it is. People are stoked or pissed or whatever. And you’re, like, you know what, I don’t think anyone really has the real story.”
“This is truly the most joyous time in our lives, and we are excited to share the happy news,” they concluded.
