Strip Scribbles: Sightings in Vegas
By Robin Leach
Miss Nevada USA 2008 Veronica Grabowski and friends made a night of it at LAX.
Star Survelliance: Our hometown hero Steven Jackson, who is now a running back for the St. Louis Rams and formerly played at Eldorado High School, dined at Fix in the Bellagio with friends in the private dining room. They enjoyed spicy wings, rock shrimp and the surf and turf ... Wayne Brady and Jennifer Tilly were separate lunch and dinner customers at the new Brio Tuscan Grille restaurant in the Town Square complex while magician Penn Jillette -- not wishing to be rude -- sent a basket of free bread to a guest at a nearby table, who sent him over a Bruschetta appetizer ... actress Menu Suvari enjoyed sashimi and tempura platters in the Newspaper dining room of the Social House Asian-themed hotspot at Treasure Island.
Actor Billy Zane dined with actress Bai Ling and her manager at Tao in the Venetian on healthy vegan dishes and hot tea. Billy and Bai are here for the next few weeks filming a new thriller Magic Man, for release next year. They promised they'd be back as regulars during their location shoot ... Boxer 'Sugar' Shane Mosley partied with friends on the main stage at the Pure nightclub happily posing for photos with fans and at the LAX nightclub, where sexy Miss Nevada USA 2008 Veronica Grabowski shared champagne toasts with her girlfriends ... LA Lakers point guard Jordan Farmar and Scott Disick of "Keeping Up with The Kardashians" soaked up the sun at the sexy topless-optional Venus Pool Club in Caesars Palace.
A 'Strip' celebration
Sultry model Kirsten Price hosted a party at Torrid in the Hawaiian Tropic Zone at Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops to celebrate her Strip Las Vegas magazine cover and naughty-but-nice nude layout. There was narry a glimpse of her flesh, even when she danced to Maxim model DJ Frances as she wrapped up the Chicks with Decks turntable series.
A place for the locals
It's five months away but the executives at Station Casinos have decided that at 11:11 p.m. on 11/11 (Nov. 11, 2008), they will open their newest locals entertainment casino destination, Aliante Station.
Located in North Las Vegas, where the 215 meets Aliante Parkway, the $675 million resort will offer 202 hotel rooms, six restaurants, a 14,000-square-foot meeting center, a 600-seat theater and a 16-screen movie theater. It’s the company’s 11th hotel-casino and its 18th property in Southern Nevada. The last property that Station Casinos opened was the Red Rock Resort on April 18, 2006. The rival Boyd Gaming Corp. is now seeking to open its newest casino just three miles away! Gaming officials see the adjoining North Las Vegas as a valuable investment growth opportunity.
