Pamela’s ‘down under’ trip grabs ratings but doesn’t save show

One always has to follow-up on delicious ironies. Luxe Life reported all last week on Vegas showgirl Pamela Anderson's trip down under to Australia. She flew 16 hours to go into the Big Brother house on Network 10. It was the producer's last-ditch gamble to save the show from cancellation.

The ratings were gigantic. In fact, more than 1 million viewers -- the most ever -- tuned in.

But after seven years, the network chiefs decided to kill it off. So, Pamela flew back 16 hours learning that she'd been successful in reviving the flagging numbers but the axe had fallen anyway! The show ends this month for good. "At least she ended it on the best and the highest for us," said program head David Mott.
