Unexpected Jane’s Addiction reunion at Red Rock Resort

Three thousand fans turned up for the short Bottle Rock It concert by Jane’s Addiction star Perry Farrell at Red Rock Resort near Red Rock Canyon in suburban Summerlin. They may have grumbled about the length of the show, which ran a little over half-an-hour, but they got the surprise of their lives with the unexpected reunion of Farrell and fellow Jane’s Addictions star, super guitarist Dave Navarro! The twosome had feuded bitterly in recent years, but patched up their squabble earlier this year. The reunion performance looked as if they’d never split -- but in fact, they hadn’t even rehearsed together. They used the Internet to swap tracks and performances with each other. Luxe Life readers can view the video at YouTube.com.

“We missed each other. Dave and I have a lot of history and we are not making war, we are making music.” Perry, who created the Lollapalooza rock festival, told my Las Vegas Weekly colleague Richard Abowitz. “Dave is a wild man. I love him because he is himself.” In fact, the two new “best friends” even partied afterward for a night on the town back on the Strip at LAX nightclub in the Luxor. But not before they did what rockers do best -- and that’s chase down the girls. Dave got into a passionate onstage make-out session with a go-go dancer. Perry hugged a group of gorgeous girls and even dragged one girl up on stage for a “Happy Birthday to You” sing-along, with everybody joining in. Monies spent on the bottles of wine at the concert were donated to Springs Preserve.
