Everybody should know by now that brother and sister singing duo Donny and Marie Osmond are returning to the Strip as resident headliners starting in September at the Flamingo! So what are they doing opening tonight for seven days with eight shows at the rival MGM Grand Hollywood Theater? Hard to believe that its their first time together back here on the Strip since 1979! That’s just about 30-years ago -- wow time flies!

Don’t fret, my pet! The Flamingo engagement is still on. The MGM Grand week was previously scheduled as part of the world tour that the Osmond family and Donny & Marie have been wrapping up this spring and summer.

It’s the family reunion tour they promised their father George just before he died. In this reunion show, they’re reprising some of their largest hits from yesteryear together. There’s the premiere of several new videos that Donny has produced, along with old footage from their very early TV appearances with Andy Williams, when Donny was only 5 years old and Marie was 3 years old. They are also using projection screens to show the archival footage on a custom-designed stage.

When they return to Vegas in September at the Flamingo, it will be an entirely different show. Both Donny & Marie will give separate solo performances in addition to teaming up for the finale. In between there will be a Dancing with the Stars-type contest for members of the audience to be invited up on stage to strut their stuff.
