Tonight’s tip: Donny & Marie or heavy metal rock?

Donny & Marie Osmond will begin a run at MGM Grand.

* Brother-sister singing duo Donny & Marie Osmond begin a seven-night run at MGM Grand's Hollywood theater as part of their world tour, which wraps in time for them to start a regular headliner engagement at the rival Flamingo in September.

* There's a heavy metal rock triple header at the House of Blues with an early 6 p.m. start to get Mastodon, Machine Head and Black Tide all on and off stage for each others' performances!

* There are the six matchups today for the NBA Summer league at Thomas & Mack: it all tips off on the basketball court at 1 p.m. with Mavericks vs. Pistons; 3 p.m. is Hornets vs. Clippers; 5 p.m. is Raptors vs. 76ers; 5.30 p.m. is Spurs vs. Suns; 7 p.m. is Trailblazers vs. Timberwolves and 7:30 p.m. is Nuggets vs Bucks.
