It took two parties and a birthday bash for tattooed motocross champ Carey Hart to open his new Wasted Space rock lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel. Rock stars and Hollywood’s socialites and singers mingled together to pronounce it “one incredible winner.” Our double opening-night souvenir photo album shows a better story than any words we can conjure up!

First, to celebrate the new locals industry night and his birthday, action sports superstar and co-owner Carey was joined by N.Y. Yankees star Jason Giambi -- also a co-owner -- with his wife, Kristian; good friend John Dolmayan, drummer for System of a Down; and the club’s managing partner, Cory McCormack, with wife Shannon DuPont. Hard Rock nightlife team executives Jason Habel, Greg Costello and Mike Myers, along with every member of the bar staff sported mustaches in a cheeky nod to Jason’s trademark facial feature! Wasted Space was packed to capacity when Dolmayan treated the crowd with a surprise drum performance, followed by the presentation to Carey of a birthday cake topped with mini motocross riders.

For the second grand-opening night, a host of Hollywood celebrities flew in for the fun of the city’s newest hot spot, “anti-club” and rock lounge. It all melds a high-end rock and roll culture with a tattoo-influenced design creating a one-of-a-kind experience. Carey and Cory welcomed Benji Madden of Good Charlotte and his now perma-linked girlfriend, Paris Hilton, who were entangled, entwined and inseparable all night long. Also there: actress/singer Mandy Moore; Billy Morrison, Dave Navarro, Donovan Leitch and Matt Sorum of the band Camp Freddy; Royston Langon of the former music group Spacehog; Brendan Urie of Panic of the Disco; reality show heartthrob Brody Jenner, who as Luxe Life predicted has hit every club in town the past three days; Maynard James Keenan of Tool; Gwen Stefani’s rocker husband, Gavin Rossdale; actor Stephen Baldwin; rapper Ice-T; Coco; ex-boxer Mike Tyson; Josh Laber of Entourage; actress Jennifer Tilly; Billy Duffy of the Cult, the Fertitta families, Miss Nevada Veronica Grabowski and Shayne Lama, 'The Bachelor' bombshell. Wasted Space was again at capacity when Gavin Rossdale, fresh from his own starring concert at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, got onstage and performed an acoustic set, performing hits including "Glycerine," from his days with Bush, and "Love Remains the Same" from his new album, Wanderlust. Jenner sang along at a private VIP booth before heading to the bar with friends.

Camp Freddy then performed, and Everlast joined them on stage during one of their songs. Moore was spotted hanging out at a table with Lorenzo Fertitta where Tyson stopped by to say hello. During Camp Freddy's performance Paris stood up on the booth and showed off her dance moves. Both Brody and Carey stopped by to hang with her and Benji.

Everybody agreed that Carey had pulled off a “ jackpot win” with the new Wasted Space club for the ultimate in rock and roll decadence. He will feature live music acts and rock DJs -- and guests will get to mingle up close with the stars of today’s rock music scene. Tomorrow (Tuesday) he presents “Girl in a Coma,” and then on Friday, Gilby Clarke takes the stage. Already set for next month and then September are Lynch Mob, Steely Lord, Billy Bob Thornton, Cracker, Tokyo Police Club and Kilola with Action Design.
