Cirque du Soleil officials confirmed early this afternoon that the premiere of Criss Angel's new Believe magic spectacular has had to be pushed back to a new October 9 gala opening. They are hoping that previews can go ahead on September 12 which was scheduled as a new actual opening date. It's the second such postponement. The very first announcement had planned an initial August preview start.

Technical rehearsals for the show have been set back because of delays to the installation and testing of new equipment and configurations at the recently re-designed theater in the Luxor resort. "These new dates will now give our creative team sufficient rehearsal time with the technical aspects of the production and ensure its as truly spectacular as everybody envisions," I was told by a senior Cirque executive.
