No cheap thrills at Madonna’s MGM Grand show
By Robin Leach
With her new album, Hard Candy, debuting at No. 1 around the world, pop princess Madonna has confirmed her “Sticky & Sweet Tour” will stop at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. But the ticket prices will break records with their sky-high charges. Seats in the nosebleed roof sections start at $72, with favored main-stage seats at an astronomical $357 plus taxes and service charges, making it closer to $400 each! They will go on sale Saturday, limited to only four per person.
Madonna is a multi-Grammy Award winner and recent inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Her current 11th album, Hard Candy debuted at No. 1 in an unprecedented 37 countries and received four stars in Rolling Stone, Blender and People, with the NY Daily News hailing it as, “Madonna’s greatest album ever.” She co-wrote and co-produced her current smash single “4 Minutes” with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. Madonna’s previous studio album, Confessions On A Dance Floor, sold more than 8.5 million copies.
Madonna has long been known for groundbreaking multidimensional tours that consist of visual and audio extravaganzas with nonstop singing and breathtaking dancing. Her last tour, 2006’s acclaimed "Confessions Tour," included performances in Vegas, along with 25 countries (including Russia). She reached a collective audience of more than 1.3 million fans. It was the highest-grossing concert tour of all time by a female artist.
