Staggering Stars: Will Cody be around for Julianne’s return to DWTS?

Maybe the ABC executives should re-title the show Dancing With the Injured Stars? It seems now that every one of the last seven competitors standing is literally falling over in pain!
Cody and his new partner, Edyta.
Believe it or not, but daytime soap queen Susan Lucci, who has an injured toe, didn’t wind up in the bottom position last night after dancing a difficult paso doble. She scored 24 out of 30.
Our Vegas regular Lance Bass -- Sir Dance-A-Lot! -- hurt his toe during rehearsals and scored 25 out of 30 for the rumba. Model and TV host Brooke Burke, also dealing with a foot injury, grabbed the first perfect score of 30 out of 30 this season, and judges raced about her 20 consecutive spins in a team test.
But it was a sad night for Cody Linley of Hannah Montana fame with the lowest score of the night -- 22-- for his Viennese waltz with replacement emergency partner Edyta Sliwinska. It was obvious that they hadn’t yet clicked as well as his dances with regular partner Julianne Hough.
Lance and Lacey, smiling through the pain.
Cameras followed Cody and Edyta when they went to visit former Vegas Academy of Music student Julianne recovering at home from surgery, which resulted in the removal of her appendix last week. She told Cody he had to “hang tough” until she got back on her feet to help him and Edyta. But it will be two weeks before she’s permitted to dance again, although she instead will be able to sing on next week’s show.
Remember that because of the election today, there will not be a regular broadcast tonight. Instead, the show will return tomorrow, with Lionel Ritchie as guest star and the viewer votes with the announcement of who goes home.
We’ll have the results and recap right here at Vegas DeLuxe!
