Rock festival of grandeur planned for Vegas — and the Grand Canyon

By Robin Leach

Star rockers know the name Mike Peters -- even if you don’t. Not because he battled leukemia and won. Not because he has his own rock band in Britain, but because he co-founded a unique cancer charity called Love Hope Strength.

The stars are flocking to him because of his one-of-a-kind, unique concert settings. If you’re thinking Woodstock, think again -- this is way beyond that!

He’s recruited numerous rockers for the most unique concert gigs in the world, including the first-ever concert at the Inca Temple of Machu Picchu in Peru. That was for Peru Rocks, and last year he led a group of charity rockers for the first-ever gig played at the base camp of the world’s highest mountain as part of Everest Rocks.

Now Mike, seen here in a YouTube interview and two acoustic music sets, has his sights set on Vegas Rocks -- and he’s confirmed that it will take place with an expedition through the Grand Canyon next July 4. Members of Guns ’n’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Motorhead and The Damned have already signaled their intent to take part.

Vegas DeLuxe has learned that Mike will lead an expedition of hiking, river rafting and other adventures through the Grand Canyon, and when the weeklong trail is blazed, the stars will celebrate with a major rock show here. We’ll continue to keep you posted as this extraordinary undertaking gets pulled together, but, as they say: It’s on -- it’s definite!
