As hometown rocker Vince Neil gets ready to go out on yet another leg of the Motley Crue 10-year series of world tours, the stats are in on this summer’s Crue Fest. The boys drew more than 613,000 concertgoers and grossed $16.6 million. They promoted their new album Saints of Los Angeles while touring, and to date it’s racked up 236,000 in sales. Now Vince goes off on a short pre-Christmas solo tour, and then rejoins the band Feb. 2 in San Diego for a new 25-plus-city jaunt that ends March 18 in Maine. Then the boys get a break until early summer, when Motley Crue plays Europe in June before the 2nd annual Crue Fest resumes in July for three months.
*Breaking news! Wall Street sources are abuzz this morning that our Las Vegas-headquartered MGM has decided to suspend its plans to build a second hotel gaming and entertainment complex in Macau.
Terry Fator on stage with a puppet.
*Now that Danny Gans has officially vacated his theater at The Mirage for his move to the Wynn next February, it will be converted over to the Terry Fator Theater. Tickets went on sale over the weekend for the singing impressionist and comedy ventriloquist’s Feb. 14 previews, with the regular run beginning March 17.
*The additional regular episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show she taped Friday morning at Caesars Palace with magician Hans Klok and headliner Bette Midler will air today, but the taped version of her “Even Bigger Really Big Show” she filmed on the first night of The Comedy Festival will air this Saturday at 9 p.m. on TBS. Click HERE and HERE for our Morning Call report and souvenir photo album we posted over the weekend. Additionally, rock singer Pink, in the midst of a tangled marital breakup with our Wasted Space at the Hard Rock operator Carey Hart, will appear on Ellen’s show. Hopefully, Ellen will ask the meaning behind her new video and see if there’s any chance of reconciliation with the heavily tattooed motorcross stunt rider she sings about in the hit “So What”!
*Michael Jackson update: King of Pop Michael Jackson didn’t want to be in a London courtroom this morning, so he never made the weekend flight there. He simply couldn’t face a grilling by the bewigged British barristers fighting to get him to repay a $7 million loan to a sheik from Bahrain who befriended him after his Santa Barbara molestation trial. So Michael ponied up a settlement offer, which was accepted -- and the case has come to an immediate halt. Click HERE for our Vegas Deluxe coverage from last week that explains the full background of the case of the overly generous son of the King of Bahrain! Oh to wish we had friends like that! My former Fleet Street friends in London say the settlement was accepted by the sheikh but Michael made him promise to never reveal the details!
Robin Leach reaches across the aisle -- we mean, table -- to greet Charlie Trotter.
*Congratulations to Palazzo star chef Charlie Trotter on the publication of his new cookbook Home Cooking With Charlie Trotter. It comes just in time as the perfect gift for the holiday season and simplifies all those incredible dishes that he’s been dazzling with the past 20 years. Don’t expect one of those humungous coffee-table books. This one is a practical kitchen countertop-sized softcover cookbook redesigned and remade from the 2000 hardcover version. His restaurant dishes are superb genius creations, but here he teaches all the tricks of the trade to make it oh-so-easy to prepare right at home!
Morris Day, asking the rhetorical question, "What time is it?"
*Star surveillance: Sylvester Stallone enjoyed dinner at Strip House inside Planet Hollywood. … English soccer player David Beckham turned up at Nobu inside the Hard Rock after the Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton victory to enjoy a late dinner from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., then he sped back to the Palms ,where he was staying in the $25,000-a-night, 10,000-square-foot Hardwood suite that comes complete with its own basketball court but alas no soccer field! … Kim Kardashian and her sisters Kourtney and Khloe stayed in a new condo penthouse at George Maloof’s Palms Place, and, after the Usher concert, the trio dined there at Iron Chef Kerry Simon’s restaurant. … Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis had a pre-fight dinner at the Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill inside MGM Grand. … Comedian Wayne Brady had dinner at Wolfgang’s other and newest Vegas restaurant, CUT steakhouse inside the Palazzo. … Heroes star Hayden Panettiere treated three friends to a 1 a.m. feast at Sushi Samba in the Palazzo sharing pork ramen, Kobe ishiyaki, yellowtail tiradito, yellowtail taquitos, tempura Japanese vegetables and the Samba Green Envy roll, plus the rare Beni Mansaku sake shots. While in town, Hayden stayed in a Fantasy suite at the Palms and unveiled her very own clutch that she’s designed with Dooney & Burke designer Peter Dooney. She signed store catalogs and her bags at the company’s boutique in The Venetian, which became the first of its U.S. stores to get its very own redesigned makeover. … Morris Day of legendary dance-pop ensemble The Time took his wife for cocktails at Mist in Treasure Island. … Comedy curmudgeon Bill Maher grabbed a seat in the VIP section at Krave in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile. … Vegas singer Stephen Wesley, who had a short stint on American Idol, and Wee Matt of Jackass were hypnotized and then filmed Me and Wee for MTV at Michael Johns’ performance of Hypnosis Unleashed at the Harmon Theater. … Superstar singer Mariah Carey joined comedy actor husband Nick Cannon to watch David Alan Grier’s show in the Palace Ballroom at Caesars Palace as part of The Comedy festival. ... Actress Alyssa Milano watched The Comedy Festival’s live webcast from the comfort of the LOL lounge at Caesars. … Funny man Brad Garrett hit Stack at The Mirage before hitting the stage for his standup gig there. … And Oakland As star Frank Thomas dined contentedly in the lounge area of Fix Restaurant & Bar at Bellagio.

Tonight’s tip
Grammy-nominated hip-hop star Paul Wall from Expensive Taste will host and perform at Prive in Planet Hollywood, and he’ll make it rain Benjamins at the stroke of midnight. … There’s a Miss Sixty party at Jet in The Mirage, where five lucky ladies will each win $1,000 gift cards!
Tomorrow’s tease
Scary Spice Girl Mel B teams up with General Hospital star Kelly Monaco for the new burlesque Peep Show, and both say they’ll happily show their flash and their flesh! Our exclusive interviews are explosive, to say the least. Seniors’ sex symbol Tom Jones releases a new album to prove that he’s very much alive. Then coming later in the week, the incredible story of the Britney Spears comeback, which should include a New Year’s kickoff right here in Vegas. She’ll celebrate her 27th birthday in a week’s time with the release of her new album Circus and a Good Morning America TV concert appearance at New York’s Big Apple Circus under the “big top” tent at Lincoln Center. Vegas DeLuxe has the full inside story -- and advance photos -- from this coming Sunday’s emotional, sometimes heartbreaking and very revealing MTV story of her climb back to the top as she recovers from two years of major messy missteps -- now she’s fighting on the comeback trail for top pop status all over again!
