Carey Hart gets it write with tattoo tome

Motocross champion and stuntman Carey Hart can now add the role of author to his resume! The owner of the new Wasted Space rock club at the Hard Rock Hotel released his debut tome today (Wednesday) when Inked went on sale at bookstores across the country. It’s safe to call this a coffee-table art book because there are 42 incredibly lavish color photos by Bill Thomas that show off the art of tattooing perfectly. Inked features 42 different people, including Carey, his dad, construction executive Tom Hart and a VIP hostess at the Tao nightclub here in the Venetian. Carey reveals he didn’t get his first tattoo until he turned 18-- but now his entire body is adorned from neck to waist and from his knuckles to past his shoulders. “It’s 100 percent uptop,” Carey told me. “You couldn’t find room for more even if you tried.”

Tonight (Wednesday), Carey hosts the Filter rock group at his Hard Rock Hotel lounge -- and if you want to see his tattoos he’ll happily lift up his shirt. He’ll also steer you in the direction of his Huntington & Hart tattoo parlor at George Maloof’s Palms hotel if you’d like to get started and follow in his skin!
