When singing star Bette Midler discovered that it takes 14 fully loaded trucks to move her show on tour, she decided to quit all future touring.

Forget the high price of gas, Bette is a real-true environmentalist! She revealed: “I’ve decided to stay put in Vegas instead of wasting a lot of expensive gas. It caused too much pollution as well. I don’t drive much myself anyway. I have a Smart car and a Toyota Prius hybrid. I recycle. I compost and I do all the things you are supposed to do -– doing the right thing. Even my clothes are 50-years old “ she joked.

Bette, at 62, doesn’t have to worry much about touring the world anymore. Her show is doing so well here at Caesars Palace that she this weekend topped co-star Cher as the top-selling artist on the Strip in box office ticket sales. Her contract at the Colosseum has another two years to run.
