Kardashian lopped from Dancing, but Braxton safe – for now

Going into last night’s (Tuesday) second-round Dancing with the Stars results show it looked pretty certain that our Vegas hometown heroine Toni Braxton and regular Vegas visitor Lance Bass would be safe -– and not axed from the show. It was far more worrying for Kim Kardashian, who films her Keeping up with the Kardashians reality TV series here. She was part of the trio of three lowest scorers including 82-year-old Cloris Leachman and celebrity chef Rocco DeSpirito -- but he scraped through to next week!

Vegas also has another connection to this new seventh season of the ABC hit show. Beach volleyball champion Kerri Walsh -- and husband Casey Jennings, who was born, raised and schooled in Las Vegas -- are in the audience rooting for her gold medal Beijing Summer Olympic partner, Misty May-Treanor. To date she has racked up top scoring levels with Brooke Burke, host of Wild On and the Rock Star INXS and Supernova reality shows filmed here. Both Misty and Brooke continue onto next week’s third round.

Before Jessica Simpson sang two country songs on the show, host Tom Bergeron announced that Toni and dance partner Alec were safe to go forward to next week’s third round. Lance and his partner Lacy also move ahead to next week leaving Kim and Cloris waiting to the final seconds.

The bad sad news is that Kim was axed -– and Cloris narrowly won enough viewer popularity votes to stay on for another shot. We’ll have Kim’s own thoughts about her departure in tomorrow’s Luxe Life! Good news is that Kim now heads to the Vegas strip to celebrate her birthday in style later this month!
