Mariah stays in Vegas for husband’s birthday bash

By Robin Leach

Superstar singer Mariah Carey and her new husband, actor and comedy star Nick Cannon, became the first people to dine in the new private dining room at Rao’s in Caesars Palace last night -- even before it's officially opened next week!

Tonight, Nick takes centerstage at the Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace, where he'll celebrate his birthday and also spin the "wheels of steel" as guest DJ. Fans had been hoping that Mariah, who hosted her own bash at the Bank nightclub next door in the Bellagio this past weekend, would stay on for her husband's celebration. Maybe she wants to keep an eye on him when the lingerie-clad shapely sexy Vegas Pussycat Dolls present him with a super-sized birthday cake tonight?

"Bubbles," the famed Rao's host, Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey and manager Sergio Martinez.

The new private dining room at Rao's seats just 15 people, so Mariah and Nick brought three of their assistants for a hush-hush away from prying eyes. They feasted on Rao's classics, including antipasto, Uncle Vincent's lemon chicken and Aunt Anna's famous pasta and meatballs.

My spies who did catch the VIP group put to rest any rumors of Mariah's rumored pregnancy as she sipped on a glass of Insignia through dinner.

When the managers presented the divine diva with a signed Rao's cookbook, they joked that she probably never had time to cook from it. But Nick said his wife makes a fabulous clam sauce! Mariah is a regular at the original world-famous Rao's restaurant in upper Manhattan and asked the staff here to send her love and best wishes to the Pellegrino and Sraci families back East!
