Strip Scribbles: Celebrity sightings and tonight’s tip
By Robin Leach
*Hotel mogul Steve Wynn has tentatively set Dec. 22 as the official opening night of his new Encore resort casino. Nightclub czar Victor Drai will open the new luxurious, over-the-top XS nightclub there on Dec. 31 and the suites will be ready for occupancy as of Feb. 6.
*It's only now coming to light that nightclub empire operator Pure Management Group surrendered its Lucky Strike bowling alley to the Rio resort casino. No official statement was ever made as to the reasons behind the closure and transfer, but Luxe Life has confirmed officially that Rio’s management has now taken over the Lucky Strike operations. Although now closed to the public, the Rio sales department makes it available for corporate parties and private groups.
*Star surveillance: Comedy actor Martin Lawrence hit the Jersey Boys musical at the Palazzo and afterward stopped by Tao’s new Lavo Moroccan-Mediterranean restaurant there for dinner … also at LAVO was comedy star Wayne Brady after his Venetian show, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean and the cast of Showtime’s Dexter series, plus yours truly … Paris Hilton’s parents, Rick and Kathy, took in Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom -- The Las Vegas Spectacular at the Venetian resort as part of daughter Nicky Hilton's 25th birthday celebrations on the Strip ... Guns & Roses star Slash took his wife, Perla, and a friend to lunch at Dos Caminos in the Palazzo with the restaurant’s famed guacamole as their immediate first order request ... Heather Graham took a break from filming her latest movie and checked out the water-themed Cirque du Soleil O show at the Bellagio and sat near singer Natasha Henstridge. After the show they got a backstage tour and met with the cast … UFC octagon beauty Arianny Celeste dined with five friends on Jidori chicken teriyaki and Rising Sun martinis at the Social House Asian-themed restaurant in the TI before heading into the Christian Audigier downstairs nightclub to host a party with DJ Eric Cubeechee on the wheels of steel.
Daniel Ortiz, Ekenah Claudin, Heather Graham, Marco de Santi and Bernhardt Mattes.

Julie Benz and CS Lee, of Dexter.
Tonight's tip:
Comedy actor Nick Cannon celebrates his birthday at Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace playing turntable DJ and hopefully his superstar wife, singer Mariah Carey, has stuck around in town to join him ... rock lounge owner Carey Hart has a triple-punch live line-up at his Wasted Space club in the Hard Rock with Lydia Vance, Shatterance and Plan B ... Comedian Maryellen Hooper is joined by fellow comics Jeff Dehart and Flip Shultz to kick off a six-night run at the Improv comedy club in Harrah’s.
Tomorrow's tease:
Siegfried & Roy return from Europe and get ready for an updated tribute to history’s most famous illusionist, Harry Houdini! We party with the cast of Dexter as they celebrate their third season premiere, and join the beauties from Sunset Tan as they wrap up the second season finale!
