Hef says procreation problems led to breakup with Holly, rebounding with Playboy ‘twin-pack’
By Robin Leach
Karissa and Kristina Shannon.
Playboy king Hugh Hefner might have saved his now-busted seven-year relationship with Girls Next Door favorite Holly Madison -- if she’d become pregnant. In officially confirming his split with the 28-year-old blond beauty, he admitted yesterday (Thursday): “We tried to have a baby earlier this year and it didn’t work out. She became very depressed, because although I planned to spend the rest of my life with her I wasn’t going to get married again.”
The 82-year-old mogul finally confirmed they split up two weeks ago when Holly hightailed it to Vegas and was seen several times with Mindfreak magician Criss Angel. Taking a break from rehearsals for the Oct. 31 world premiere of his Cirque du Soleil Believe show at the Luxor he took Holly to the Cathouse restaurant and lounge there and also to the Blush boutique club at Wynn. Hefner admits he “slumped” and felt like “road kill” over the breakup, but they will remain friends although she’s moving out of the official bunny-hutch mansion and into her own condo.
The double-exposure cover of the Shannon twins in Playboy.
The split hasn’t slowed him down, though, and like most older men they take up with an even younger galpal -- except in Hef’s case it’s two of them! Meet 19-year-old twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon, who have moved into the mansion and will be seen on the next season of Girls Next Door episodes. They are already familiar to Playboy readers, who should remember them from this year’s April cover! In the last 2 hours their MySpace page and official fan site has been bombarded with hits.
I’m reliably told that Hef will be bringing his new special twin-pack on a soon to be scheduled Vegas visit -- and meantime its highly probably that Holly will be back on Angel’s arms over the next two weekends.
