Because of a “mystery ailment” pop queen Janet Jackson has now had to postpone and cancel eight shows on her current Rock Witchu tour. After playing to a sold-out crowd here in Vegas, she headed to Montreal but was then taken to hospital for four days.

She then announced the tour would resume but on doctors’ orders at the last minute she canceled again her weekend shows in Connecticut. It’s her first North American tour in seven years, but her doctor also insisted she postpone last night’s (Monday) gig in upstate New York and Thursday’s big Madison Square Garden concert. Janet has not yet revealed details about the mystery illness, but promises to reschedule all the missed dates.

Meantime, I’ve learned that while she was here at Mandalay Bay she told talk-show host and Victoria’s Secret model Tyra Banks that she wants to start a family “at some point” with now longtime boyfriend, hip-hop mogul, star and record producer, Jermaine Dupri. Janet also told my friend Tyra that she is seriously considering a permanent Strip move in order to give up the touring rigors. Janet said she had been offered a full-time Vegas residency gig. “I’m giving it some thought,” said Janet. “I’d be doing what Cher and Celine Dion have done before me.” However, I have not been able to confirm from any Caesars Palace or AEG officials if Janet meant she’d follow in their footsteps at the Colosseum!
