Medical team on standby for Braxton’s samba as hearts race on DWTS

An emergency medical team was on standby last night (Monday) while Toni Braxton danced the samba during her appearance on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. After minor weekend concerns about her heart muscle condition, doctors earlier yesterday had given their go- ahead to her tackling the high-energy routine. Luxe Life readers will remember that Toni had to quit her Flamingo Strip headliner show earlier this year after she was taken to hospital with a heart problem. She was ordered to six weeks of bed rest after hospital treatment. I was told that it was just a safety precaution -- more because of the injuries other dancers have sustained this seventh season to date, but an ambulance was at the live broadcast in the event Toni needed to be rushed off for treatment.
Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer: two to tango.
Judges scores and viewer votes from last week will be added to tonight’s final scoring to see who will be eliminated in the fourth round of the hit show. Toni won judges’ raves for her sultry Latin attitude while dancing the samba, and gave her 22 votes out of 30 for a combined total of 44 out of 60. Lance “The Bassmaster” Bass won a new nickname “Sir Dance-a-Lot” last night from the judges, who awarded him 26 out of 30 for a combined total of 48 out of 60.
This left celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito at the bottom, with 38 out of 60, tied with 82-year-old Cloris Leachman, but viewers seem to love her madcap zany eccentricities. So tonight it looks as if our hometown heroes, Toni and Lance, will be safe and it’s the end of the line for Rocco.
Luxe Life will have that breaking news back here tomorrow morning!
