Poker pros show their hand for injured drivers and a princess wins the pot

By Robin Leach

There was an all-star lineup of poker princes and princesses at the MGM card tables to raise money in a unique tournament. Top-notch players Jamie Gold and Robert Williamson III hosted with SuperCross stars Jimmy Button and Jeff Madsen. Todd Brunson, Jennifer Harman, Karina & Chip Jett and Hoyt Corkins were among those taking part in the fourth-annual Road 2 Recovery charity for its Injured Riders Fund.

Almost 70 players competed and the final table came down to Tiffany Michelle, Brandon Cantu, Jeff Madsen, James Mordue, Adam Schoenfeld, Lonny Flack and three competing fans. Tiffany became the champion – and promptly donated part of her grand prize back to the Injured Riders Fund. The nonprofit Road 2 Recovery was founded back in 2000 by Bob Moore, Bob Walker and Jimmy Button to aid professional AMA Motorcross/Supercross riders who sustain career-ending injuries. One-time rider and now Wasted Space rock lounge owner at the Hard Rock, Carey Hart was among the celebrities and next-day CBS interviewed the stars and the players during the 2008 SuperCross Nationals.
