Julianne exits for surgery; we’re sticking with prediction for jitterbugging Brooke on DWTS

Julianne and Cody, in fine form before she fell ill.

It’s getting tougher and tougher now as the seven remaining contestants dwindle down to a precious few on Dancing with the Stars. I’m still holding to my original prediction that, despite a strained tendon from last week’s jitterbug, Brooke Burke will sweep the field now that our former Las Vegas Academy dance and music student, Julianne Hough, has been temporarily KO’d from the series. However, Lance Bass turned in the surprise high score of the night!

Julianne revealed that she will undergo surgery today (Tuesday) for endometriosis at the same time as she has her appendix removed. The two medical procedures are not related -– but the abnormal growth of uterine tissue outside of its normal female area that caused her intense stomach pain last week and led to a hospital emergency has to be operated on. Julianne was partnered with Cody Linley from Hannah Montana as the youngest ever contestant -– and he will dance with new professional partner, Edya Sliwinska, until Julianne returns. (She was partnered with comedian Jeffrey Ross at the beginning of the season and he was the first contestant eliminated.) Meantime, dancing the samba with Cody, the brave and courageous Julianne did manage a score of 23 from the judges. We all wish her well and a speedy recovery!

Last night our regular Vegas visitor, former N’SYNC star Lance Bass scored a best of the night 27 from the curmudgeons on the judging panel, including Lord of the Dance star Michael Flatley sitting in as a guest. Cloris Leachman was slammed for her cha-cha and only nailed a 15 while Susan Lucci got 23 points for her mambo and they wound up as the bottom two. Now its up to the viewers to see who gets tossed off and there may well be some last minute surprise suspense because of the way 82-year-old Cloris has won over viewer hearts with her wacky antics and the extraordinary dedicated fans of Susan’s soap opera All My Children.

Luxe Life will monitor Julianne’s hospital progress, and we will have the viewers votes here tomorrow morning (Wednesday) with the bad and ugly news of who gets axed and is sent home for good! Tonight, Flatley will also dance and the Pussycat Dolls with Missy Elliott will be the guest performers.
